The Day
The day after tomorrow
What we’ll see is what we’ll get
A testament of sorrow
Living with our regrets
The day after the next
Our scars will break open
Haunting thoughts make us vexed
Rejection makes us broken
The day hereafter
We’ll look and wish for more
Then we’ll shrivel up and scatter
Because there’s nothing to fall for
The day on the horizon
We’ll go back to the moment
That everything fell apart
And pray for atonement
The day in the future
When we’re too worn out
And we can’t take the torture
Of another bout
The day we can’t face
Will come and go so fast
Then we’ll be stuck in place
Clinging to the past
The day we hope will come
Will be a day of celebration
Where we won’t succumb
To the feeling of trepidation
The day I hope you’ll see me
For whom I really am
Then I won’t feel so lonely
And tomorrow won’t be damned
What we’ll see is what we’ll get
A testament of sorrow
Living with our regrets
The day after the next
Our scars will break open
Haunting thoughts make us vexed
Rejection makes us broken
The day hereafter
We’ll look and wish for more
Then we’ll shrivel up and scatter
Because there’s nothing to fall for
The day on the horizon
We’ll go back to the moment
That everything fell apart
And pray for atonement
The day in the future
When we’re too worn out
And we can’t take the torture
Of another bout
The day we can’t face
Will come and go so fast
Then we’ll be stuck in place
Clinging to the past
The day we hope will come
Will be a day of celebration
Where we won’t succumb
To the feeling of trepidation
The day I hope you’ll see me
For whom I really am
Then I won’t feel so lonely
And tomorrow won’t be damned
