Moonwalk

I watch you walk along the coast
Heart wedged inside your throat
Romancing troubled tides,
While your past protects your pride.

Sympathetic, the sea sighs
When it catches sorrowful eyes
And familiar tears begin to swell
As your secrets tell on themselves.

Fearing whatever happens next
You refuse to take those solemn steps
Instead you're hiding in the spans
Of a castle built on historic sand.
