My dear, one
You like to think you're on your own
You seem to mourn what hasn't died
You say you'll never return to love
You treat them like they do you
You're trying to survive what isn't threatening you
You're living like you died long ago
You're running in place, so long as you're facing the other direction
You're plugging your ears, but I'm not saying a word
I feel the pain you never talk about,
but the one you can't hide in your eyes
I'd hurt them all for you.
You seem to mourn what hasn't died
You say you'll never return to love
You treat them like they do you
You're trying to survive what isn't threatening you
You're living like you died long ago
You're running in place, so long as you're facing the other direction
You're plugging your ears, but I'm not saying a word
I feel the pain you never talk about,
but the one you can't hide in your eyes
I'd hurt them all for you.
