Her Surprise

My girlfriend came over on a Friday night.
 
Two college students still living at home. 
 
My parents were there as they usually were
 
Making it impossible for us to be alone
 
 
We planned to sit down to a movie
 
But first she whispered this in my ear 
 
“I have a surprise for you later” she quietly said
 
A secret message spoken firm and clear
 
 
What did she mean about a secret?   
 
I was thinking as the movie began 
 
Words spoken so softly. I thought, could only mean
 
Romantic revelations were a part of her plan
 
 
Those thoughts took prisoner of my mind
 
My excited head began to swirl
 
I sat on the floor at her feet 
 
Focused not on a movie, but the girl 
 
 
The movie seemed to go on all night 
 
When would it ever end?
 
My body and mind just had to know 
 
About the secret that she kept 
 
 
At last the movie ended
 
And my parents departed the night 
 
And we locked ourselves into my room 
 
Illuminated by a single light.  
 
 
We sat there awaiting for the right time 
 
When her secret would be revealed 
 
When I noticed something special 
 
That she thought was still concealed 
 
 
Along her shoulder I could now see 
 
Where her collar stretched away from her neck
 
The strap of the new bra that she wore 
 
In a dark and lacy black 
 
 
My heart leapt with excitement 
 
To now know of her special gift
 
And I couldn’t help but kiss her 
 
To taste those shoulders with my lips
 
 
Together we rid her of her clothes 
 
Revealing the bra pushing firm and high
 
With black lace scalloped along the edge 
 
Drawing the hungry gaze of grateful eyes 
 
 
Her slender figure tapered inward 
 
As my eyes moved toward her waist
 
To view her second secret gift 
 
Of loose-fitting satin and lace 
 
 
It was the nicest secret I had ever learned 
 
It was over 25 years ago 
 
But the memory remains with me 
 
The best secret ever told!
 
 
What a beauty she is to see 
 
No matter what she wears 
 
But on that night I felt her love 
 
In those black garments that she beared
