Only You Will Do
On this lengthy, desolate path I tread,
Alone, uncertain of where it may lead.
Never did I think I'd reach this place,
Yearning for speed, then embracing slow pace.
Hope turned to despair, a bleak display,
For this journey, regardless, ends the same way.
My search for another, I no longer pursue,
No one but you, my heart truly knew.
The real thing replaced, now yearning to hold,
Wasted days and nights on empty highs, I'm told.
Enduring hardships, my worst to endure,
Only to discover, my need for you is pure.
Gazing at the morn's warm golden rays,
I'm haunted by actions, from which there's no escape.
Of all that's been lost, one truth I've found,
I needed you, my love, there's no other sound.
No longer deceiving in heap on the floor,
My path is clear, the direction I adore.
No one but you, my heart truly adores,
Stumbling, I reach for words, longing to restore.
Wasted days and nights spent on fruitless chase,
Yearning for highs that left me in empty space.
But I had to endure the worst of my fears,
To recognize my need, for you, my dear.
As the morning sun shines upon my face,
There's no escape from hidden secrets, misplaced.
Of all that's been lost, one truth rings clear,
I needed you, my love, you're my soul's frontier.
And my dear, that's the undeniable truth,
No longer uncertain, no longer aloof.
I searched for you with every fiber and breath,
Leave a light on, let our distance turn deaf.
Wasted days and nights, they fade from sight,
For in my darkest moments, you're my guiding light.
Through the mistakes and regrets I've accrued,
I needed you, my love, that's undisputed.
As the morning sun greets the world anew,
The weight of my transgressions, I cannot eschew.
But amidst all that's been lost on this quest,
I needed you, my love, to feel truly blessed.
And my dear, that's the undeniable truth,
No longer a puzzle, but a union of youth.
And my dear, that's the undeniable truth,
No longer lost, but finally found, in you.
Alone, uncertain of where it may lead.
Never did I think I'd reach this place,
Yearning for speed, then embracing slow pace.
Hope turned to despair, a bleak display,
For this journey, regardless, ends the same way.
