Lovely
The softness of your expression is imprinted within my mind.
I can not ever forget that beautiful smile,
Nor can I ever forget those lovely words that you spoke.
“I love you.”
The lies you told me were lovely.
I believed every,
Single,
One.
The lies that once made my heart speed,
Speed faster and faster till it may have bursted from my chest.
Those same lies now fill my mind with dread.
I can never forget what those words meant to you.
To you they were conditions.
They were a binding contract that meant that mistakes were the end.
Mistakes were the end of it all.
Simply because of those lovely, lovely words.
It is difficult to hear those words now.
Never hard to say them,
But they pain my ears to hear so often.
They are a constant, shrill, deafening scream in my head.
I can not ever forget that beautiful smile,
Nor can I ever forget those lovely words that you spoke.
“I love you.”
