suddenly
an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth
well we'd all be gummy and blind
so although you shat upon my heart
i'm trying not to mind
i'm trying hard to carry on
to keep my head up high
still every day i think of you
and all i do is sigh
i'm trying hard to carry on
i'm trying not to cry
i'm trying to excuse you
for feeding me a lie
i'm trying to be the big man
who leaves troubles well behind
but thinking of what you've done to me
i fear i'll lose my mind
i thought you were my soulmate
i thought you were my one
i thought that things between us
would never go this wrong
but now the thought of seeing you
makes me feel empty inside
still i'll stay strong and carry on
i'll swallow all my pride
for although things may never be
as good as me and you
still i'll stay strong and carry on
well what else can i do
you led me up the mountain
then pushed me off the cliff
i believed in you wholeheartedly
now i'm haunted by the whiff
the stench of what has happened
what you have done to me
a change of heart, tears me apart
and all so suddenly...
