Mother
And now in my hour of sorrow and grief
I find it entangled with blessed relief
The love in my heart intermixes the two
Sweet gracious surrender I bow to you

The love in my heart intermixes the two
Sweet gracious surrender I bow to you

My deepest sympathy to you.
I'm caretaking for my own mom who has dementia. Your first 2 lines struck a deep chord in me.
Sending you love and light 💜

Thank you kindly Debbie.
Mother also suffered from dementia.
There is no shame in feeling relief when the path is at it's end, I understand some struggle with this, for I did at first and this poem is me telling myself that it is alright.
With dementia, there are precious moments when the person we knew emerges again for a few minutes and it is so wonderful to witness, i know you understand what i mean.
May God give you strength and lighten your steps.

There is no shame in feeling relief.
And the moments I know it's her, not the raging disease are prescious.
My own way of survival as I am her sole caretaker is just just live within the confines of one day at a time.
My own personal life is a mess, so I'm very scared of days to come.
Your mom is at peace now. I'm always here if you ever need an ear. And thank you for your blessing. Writing is my salvation right now.
Sending you love 💕
