Lost lines
I wanted to paint the love lines on your palms
In colors we wove together through time
I wanted to wear your laughs on my smile
Walking hand-in-hand through the worlds of our life
But years ago & several lifetimes past
The words of need caught in my throat
flopping out as a floundering fish
In wrong waters, denying me the opportunity
Of might-have-been’s
Conjecture & imaginings all
I only seek a life-line
That clasps yours
I escape into dreams
Where lost love
Returns
In colors we wove together through time
I wanted to wear your laughs on my smile
Walking hand-in-hand through the worlds of our life
But years ago & several lifetimes past
The words of need caught in my throat
flopping out as a floundering fish
In wrong waters, denying me the opportunity
Of might-have-been’s
Conjecture & imaginings all
I only seek a life-line
That clasps yours
I escape into dreams
Where lost love
Returns
