arrested development

to be held again
oh, if only
swaddled, swooned,
and rocked to sleep
too fast it went
i blinked
years of lonely tears
abandonment
crying in a corner
while others took one’s hand
perhaps i was missed?
invisible back then
to eyes of those who cradle tenderly
love the children, beyond their own..
for if they saw, surely they’d sit beside me?
they don’t expect you to understand it then
but oh, if i only knew
the schemes, miserable reality
turns sour with time
the kids who suffer hell blindly
grow wings a little early
it only took ages to see…

whatever the case, she has grown now
but that little girl, that
infant baby
still lies in a corner
waiting, perhaps for nothing now
neglect keeps her frozen
it is where she has stayed
and shall remain
until she is remains.
