Rule Eight

Dripping on the floor
The red silk runs smooth
Between my aching fingers

Suck in the smoke
Drifts up into my nose
Feels like breathing sulfur

Inhale and exhale
Chest heeving heavily
Sweat dripping in my eyes

Tonight we are all human
Fight your first night
Tonight we are all free

No anger, no hatred
Clinch the fist tightly
The journey starts now

Hair and fingernails
Go limp from pressure
Naked and ashamed

In Tyler we trust
In Tyler we trust
Another space monkey

Ready to sacrifice themself

For the greater good

Author's Note
"If this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight."

Yes, I love the movie and book a lot. Yes, I write about it. I'm weird.
