In front of a Mark Rothko
This color please!
I want this color to be my pet.
I want to rub it in its infinite tones
on the biggest screen I can find.
Use this color in all media...
in all television statements!
I want this color in all dimensions.
I want this color to move within while I paint.
I want this color to be in everything I write!
I want all my clothes to be this color
and that such monochromatism inhabits my irises.
I want to color my teeth with this color and its shades.
I want my brain occupied by Khalo and Malevich
and Mayakovsky and Plath and all their nuances
hidden in my blank verses and stanzas.
No sharp edges, just color and color and color.
So I'll paint my life after this color...
This color please!
This color that stains my blood.
This color that punctuates my poem.
