I loved a girl.
I loved a girl.
Everything’s blurred through these teary half shut eyes
But the images in my mind’s eye I’d rather not see.
Images of when we were happy and at peace
And all that mattered were rations needed to get to the next…..
Day of that mighty twisted intellectuals love classic we lived.
I seldom speak of wonders such as the castles we built
Red rooms we painted and children we had before tea time
Wonders such as the things we did when we played house
And I took you on all the paths to heaven known to karma sutra
Though I must say, you were intolerable when red horses run wild
Nobody played slave to this muscle stricken master like you did
Nobody made beings run in white rivers in quick succession like you did.
You listened to me boast of tunes that belonged to other pipers
And though you doubted every word you hugged me close enough to make me smile.
I was mean and rude and stuck needles in your soft spots
But I did love you truly and I hope you do not doubt that.
So forgive me if I don’t pay your goodbye no mind
For my soul yearns for that which you say another now owns
You see I loved “the girl” but nature stands still for no one
I loved a girl, but sadly, she had to grow.
Everything’s blurred through these teary half shut eyes
But the images in my mind’s eye I’d rather not see.
Images of when we were happy and at peace
And all that mattered were rations needed to get to the next…..
