when I play that song
it takes me back to you
in that moment I'm happy again
because in that moment we're still friends
I hate that we don't talk
and I hate that it's not the same
see you around but it's awkward
when did everything become so serious?
can't we squabble like children
knowing we still love each other
seems we're under pressure
trying to live up to an impossibility
putting up barriers when there is no need
if I could only let you know
that if you said hello
I would let it all go

Dear DC,
I felt quite the pull of heart strings. The scenario is sad because to fall out over a disagreement seems so harsh. There is a prayerful beauty in the closing lines that sums up the love behind the write. H🌷
