satin
satin hums along the seam of my sanity
smooth to the touch
with one fatal flaw
I utter prayers to ghosts
they stir but don't intervene
I must face the mountain
sacred hope lies there
little daisies decorate my pain
it's sunny in the hurt
my sorrow facing the light
daggers of fear cut me in twain
on one side I am ready for the fight
on the other I back down
the weight of the chain too great
a prisoner of fate
I struggle within my restraints
to get only so far
before I'm pulled back
I have a thorn I can't remove
listless redeemer will there be no mercy?
for me, the afflicted
