She waited

She waited
Every sunrise she would check her phone
Only to still feel alone
Almost like she was left behind
Only she was left behind
The apologies were meaningless
The necklace
The one thing that kept her grounded
Now broken as the glass from a busted vase
Just like the empty promises he never kept
The sun would set
She waited
Until there was nothing left
