Magpie
I came across a meadow where
I'd rest from the midday's sun.
I sat upon a convenient log
next to an ancient oak.
A magpie flew over and perched
on a branch beside me.
He looked at me and said:
"Why do you sit alone?"
I turned my head and hoped
he doesn't think me ignorant.
