A part of him

It was a season passing,
an Indian summer that wouldn't cease.
The day I fluttered through that door,
a broken fool who felt she was done searching.

A longing stare from across the room
closed the distance between us.
The distance before,
between us two.

I don't recall being born,
and I won't remember dying.
But I do remember when your eyes met mine.

A stranger with a familiar smile,
whose hair fell in sways hiding lonely eyes.
Those eyes where flecks of deep brown
danced with a lighter hue.

That day, I swear they danced me to you.

A hazing richness to his gaze, brought back memories of younger days.
Deep in the recesses of my mind, from the beginning,
I knew you had awoken me.

I believe I have dreamed of you as a child.
The intoxicating presence and the incense of you.
Reminding me,
bringing me back to my center.

Familiar faces encircled the spaces between us.
You were so close, yet so far away.
Across space and time.
A spectacular vision where constellations align.
Designed for me to be drawn to you,
and you drawn to I.

The meaning of you,
worth every moment waited.
To find another against all odds.
A twin flame,
both born of fire.

I recognized the loneliness in you.
The same shade of blue that is within me.
Days where I walked the road, only the sound of two feet.

Bird's flying in a V.
Eyes locked on me,
I'm allowed to dream.
