A Debate of Two Virtues

A debate of two virtues.
The haves and the have nots.
Be not dismayed that men
Esteemed by all
Have been deceived and have
Given into their lust and desires,
For even angels have fallen.
Having lived in fine houses,
With Travel & Leisure, Conde' Nast,
Southern Living, and Garden & Gun
On their tables, counters,
And desks.
All dreams and fantasies,
They should have known
Any magazine that advertizes
Rolex and Range Rover
Was above their means and
Far beyond their reach.
Prolonging the lie
They covet the approval
Of people who could care less.
They wear Orvis, Carbon2Cobalt,
Tommy Bahama, Robert Graham
all bought used,
Online or at thrift stores.
Materialism on a brutal display
Of awesomeness.
The constitution guaranteeing them
The pursuit of happiness.
Well said, happiness being always fleeting.
Chasing the dreaming is
Chasing the wind.
A fool's errand.
Their watchlist and carts
Are full.
Slave to fashion, putting on heirs,
Spending before it is earned,
Destined to work forever,
But it is of no surprise,
For even angels have fallen.
