My deviant wants
The moon, it glares at me through the trees
and I fool myself into thinking
I'm the only one staring back
mesmerized by its imposing presence
A wave of wants passes through me
and I wish I could steal the lure of the oceans
that dragged seamen away from their lives and loves
only to become another name on a monument.
If I could use the sea's sway
over our humanity, psychology-
the way she strips an ultimately stable man
of every cell of reason's rationale, and
sends lunatics back home to where
they can blame the moon, then
and only then
I'd lure you to me
with thickly veiled insincerity
I'd rape you of your will and make
you chain your heart to mine.
This twisted love creation
would be my solution; because even deviance
will serve to satiate my wants.
