When All Hope is Lost

Amongst the flames and ashes
In ruins before you lies
Denial comes in flashes
As the world before you dies

All your efforts were in vain
Your guard begins to fall
You're tearing up, feeling the strain
Look down upon it all

Drop to your knees and bow your head
Resign to what its all become
Cities crumbled, your loved ones dead
You've failed, your quest is done

Lament and scream a horrid cry
Yourself you have to blame
Black smoke darkens the sky
Succumb to your own shame

Here you lie in these final moments
Ragged, beaten and aside you were tossed
Surrendering to all these torments
You admit all hope is lost
