Silence Of The Night

A night of stillness creeps in slowly,
As a graying mist rolls in from the moors
The shining full moon rises high
Over old mausoleums with sealed doors.

Howling wolves heard from a distance,
And croaking frogs from a nearby bog
Slow and haunting winds blow lightly
Through trees reaching out from the fog.

Reflections of the moonlight shines
On somber decrepit aging stones
A phantom passes through an iron gate
To walk a forgotten graveyard all alone.

Drifting above the dewy grounds
Gliding over abandoned ancient plots
A recurring pattern repeated nightly
In a overgrown graveyard time forgot.

A lonely figment doomed to roam
Never finding peace is it's lonely plight
A soul forever lost in it's solitude
Trapped in the silence of the night.
