Image for the poem Holding On

Holding On

In the best of autumn twilight
the silence of falling leaves
freedom to be a gentle homily
and a time for gathering

harvesting a new beginning
with nature's horizons
surrendering to the past
listening to the quiet

with a breath of hope
nurturing life's
egg in a bowl
holding on to the yoke
