.:Eye Got The Blank Stare:.
kid -
napped
slept right through the whole bit; a lullaby
giving me less than a grand goodbye
this gift; the last rift
a non - comforting display of artful erosion
empty words by me they were taken
when received?
they felt…not to be mistaken
she’s now caught (up) short and very red handed
eyes were upset - so my eyes
they demanded
yet all my eyes received was that blank stare
micro-bits of hard wrung tears
enjoined by a bitter task;
the unmasking of her unseen affairs
adding to my subsequent stare
wherein my single tear added more
a solemn, not silent retort about a whore
she now pulled out of place; then replaced by pressure
feeble her efforts by any measure - she
made to feel like
she was my departing treasure
fractured & stolen…theft covered (up) by a dutiful smile
an unexpected - trial
style empty of any genuine feeling
ears could hear in her voice - all
all - that she wasn’t revealing
nothing to parrot or graph
nothing to say - just a blank
words worth - not mentioning
nothing describing a picture of well being
my ears now
that are here now
weren’t hearing what she’d been saying - without words
now her smile curves
and eye believe to whomever it now serves
leaving me
deaf - dumb - blind
