When Will I Bite Into A Rotten Apple?

I tend to an apple tree in my backyard, pouring out all I have

On my hands and knees, I pull the thorny weeds

Its fruit so sweet, my calloused hands scorched with blisters

become soft as a mothers song, even for

just a bite
