Today,
I stood in full late morning sun
And marveled at the April breeze
Blowing a freshness sure to run
The torpor out of all the trees.
The light seemed alien to me,
Accustomed as I am to night
And its comforting scenery
Of mesonoxian delight.
But like the dolphin in the sea
I must sometimes come up for air
And see what all day walkers see
In scattered atmospheric glare...
Because a wavelength got refused
When sunlight by some oxygen cruised.
And marveled at the April breeze
Blowing a freshness sure to run
The torpor out of all the trees.
The light seemed alien to me,
Accustomed as I am to night
And its comforting scenery
Of mesonoxian delight.
But like the dolphin in the sea
I must sometimes come up for air
And see what all day walkers see
In scattered atmospheric glare...
Because a wavelength got refused
When sunlight by some oxygen cruised.
