Farewell September! Farewell summer!
Oh how I wish you both could stay
With your sunbeams like an angel strummer
Teasing harp string gold with a halo ray!
Farewell imperial sunset gloss!
We must learn to live without your grace
Much as midnight bears an albatross
Through the vorticals of maritime space!
Farewell wildfire atmosphere,
And the amber of your prismatic beams
Anchoring the sky with the hue of cheer
Forever seen in the finest dreams...
Like the ones we have of seasons we love
More joyous than the heavens above!
