Image for the poem At O Dark Thirty

At O Dark Thirty

Dark thirsty at O dark thirty
twilight rising to the top
with a darker dark
riding the winds
over fallow fields
as a winged hound
in search of my quarry
as man is my fox
and man must die
with the table laid out
in the swarming darkness
dark thirsty at O dark thirty
