My Shelf

Looking at you is hard,
because I know you're a wild card.
I don't know what you will do,
nor what you have done.
However, I know you have left a mark that cannot be undone.
You have beauty like no other.
I want so badly for us to be together.
I love hearing you talk,
and I love the way you walk.
To be by your side is a dream,
and being in your presence makes my heart sing.
I risk a glance in your direction,
and to my delight your eyes show affection.
Affection to me?
No, that cannot be,
but possibly... yes maybe.
Oh, who am i kidding?
You are so out of my league,
and as the days go by I feel fatigued.
I'm worn out from aching.
I'm worn out from wanting.
You, just you.
That is what I want... what I need.
For you ever day I plead.
Your arms are a destination I long for.
Can't you see and want me too... if not more?
You are magnificent all in yourself,
and I want you in my life- my book of life- on my shelf.
