My Heart Beat~

I’m not good at being open,  
I’m not skilled at expressing my feelings.
I’ve always been shielded, maybe even guarded.
When you don’t care, you don’t get hurt.
When you don’t feel, you can easily walk away.
That’s how I’ve always been.
There was no reason to change, then you.
You challenged me to be to better.
You inspired me to be different.
You motivated me to follow my heart,  
But my heart wasn’t meant for you.
They say that I love you, but I’m not in love with you.
They say that it’s me, it’s not you.
No more lies,
No more stories,  
No more excuses,
I do love, you, I just love them more.
My heart never moved on; it just deferred the beat.
My heart beats for them.
It always has, never to harm another, but when the heart wants what it wants,
It finds a way to have.
And now that it has, I don’t feel empty,
I suddenly feel complete.
I suddenly feel like everything is as it should.
And it feels better.
You know the feeling as do I,
I can see it in your smile, see it in your look, and feel it in your heartbeat.
