Ice-cream Van Man

This was for the 'Misery's Miracles' Competition

I sat alone in the park one day,
Wondering why I couldn't find the One.
I've thought just a shag will do,
But even being flirted with is all a con.

Then driving past I heard the ice-cream van,
He stopped for a few minutes.
All the kids rushed to get there,
I found myself sauntering to it.

As I asked for my ice-cream,
I looked up to a handsome man.
I giggled as we started to chat,
And he asked for a date as soon as I can.

I made such an effort,
It'd been quite a while for me.
We met up on time, thumbs up,
It wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be.

I decided to ask him in,
After he'd walked me to my door.
He accepted so gentlemanly,
And we got at it on the living room floor.

The deed was done, I smiled away,
As he stood up and started to dress.
I asked him ‘what you doing’, he replied,
I only see any girl once or less.

I laid thinking 'not again',
Why’s it always me?
But then I realised the worse part of it,
I never even got my ice-cream.
