Image for the poem My Mana

My Mana

hear the bells; chiming at midnight...
sounds muffled by veils of twilight...
shuttering under a kodachrome light
as my shadows dances; hidden from sight.

I face the demon: the succubus,
hiding behind the camera lens...
clicking the button; my soul
leaving me an abstract
of the man I once had been

yes..making me cower
for the photo speaks in tongues
as flash powder grasps
the dragon by his spiky tail

muzzle placed on his gaping jaws
while I'm her prisoner
lost inside her photographers
draining...
