Curtain of Night

Lengthening shadows
Broadcast the beautiful
Orange red glow of late afternoon -
When the sun deep in the western sky
Hides its sleepy head
Under a pillow of red and gold clouds
At the close of the day.

There is something magical
About this time of day -
A lifting of the tensions -
When a happy feeling of relaxation
Settles over the land -
As the curtain of day falls
On the stage of time.

And -

The curtain of night rises
Bringing with it a million twinkling stars

And -

Perhaps a crescent moon
Surrounded by a planet or two.

Now -

Its time to silence our mind
And be lost in the timelessness of eternity -

As -

The Lord blesses our present moment
With Love and grace.
