ashtree

ash falls
flicked deliberately
drifting through sparse flowers
vanishing beneath wet soil
travelling through knarly roots
beyond surface
becoming elements, waters
woven across timeless knots
previously holding fish and water worms afloat
over historic deserts
reflecting old moons we still remember
feeling us still with their joy now
no longer racing salt
like slugs in a modern mean manicured garden
somewhere on man's certain earth
