Smaller Still

     When you close your eyes here,
     It's easy to imagine
     Relentless waves washing the shore,
     But it's really the wind
     Rustling the evergreens

We drove north today;
Arrived just after midnight.
Their chocolate lab,
Old Diamond, greeted our sight

Pulled up to an '83 Glendette trailer,
1/8 of a mile behind the house,
5 hours north
Where blueberries grow

Fresh air gives the lungs a break,
And the stars here make me feel small.
Unpacked, I take a moment,
Look up, and I'm back

     Full circle to the wonderment,
     And the big questions

     I search further into the night sky;
     Deeper into its' neighborhoods;
     The sky's north, if you will,
     And I feel smaller still
