Shape Shifter

Your like a snake,
wrapping your leathery skin
around my heart,
squeezing the life out of it.

Your like ice,
freezing everthing you touch,
taking the warmth out of my love,
leaving it lifeless and cold.

Your like the darkness,
hiding the truth
in your all consuming world,
leaving me blind.

You are like everything,
a shape shifter of sorts,
but one thing you'll never be,
is anything close to my love.
