The Smell of Rain

Laid back in a field of rainbows
reaching for the pot of gold
one end reveals its riches
the other pleasures ten fold

stripped of expectations
tall grasses gently crushed
beasts of the field
tethered by yolk of lusts

sun beating down from above
sweat combined with amorous toil
the sheath once holstering virtue
now filled with blunted foil

rainbow framed by summers storm
window closed to block the rain
tall grass bends with rolling thunder
lightnings flash scatters memories pain
