In the Dark
Strange noises occur at night.
"Do you think, everything's alright?"
she asks.
I brave myself and take a look.
My only weapon is a book.
The darkness takes my every sight.
"Honey, are you still alright?"
she asks.
I whisper trough the dark: "I'm fine."
But as she calls me back, I do decline.
Step by step, I have to fight.
"Honey, who is there, this late at night?"
she asks.
Two eyes are shining in the dark,
a faint growl, a feeble bark.
I instantly turn on the light.
"Honey, everything's alright."
I say.
"It's just the dog and as you see
he wants to play with you and me."
