Girl Named Sue
A lifetime ago
I knew a girl,
We were seventeen
her name was Sue.
Still at school,
innocent days.
We had a brief fling
and went our ways,
Haven't seen her now
for fifty years,
when I think of her now
do I sense, a couple of tears?
She was special
you see,
but just too young,
her and me.
We made our lives
found husband and wives,
had kids
grew old, maybe wise.
But still
I dream
what
might have been.
She was special
you see,
but just too young,
her and me.
I knew a girl,
We were seventeen
her name was Sue.
Still at school,
innocent days.
We had a brief fling
and went our ways,
Haven't seen her now
for fifty years,
when I think of her now
do I sense, a couple of tears?
She was special
you see,
but just too young,
her and me.
We made our lives
found husband and wives,
had kids
grew old, maybe wise.
But still
I dream
what
might have been.
She was special
you see,
but just too young,
her and me.
