eyes open, vision consumed with nothing but angry red
too long has it been since
he has seen her under
canopies of brilliant orange
brightened by the golden yellow
of midday sun
too long since he last saw her
in that sweater, violently green
she was the prettiest flower in the garden
eyes more blue than the sea and sky
even on the nights of deepest violet
when they would enjoy the fall
holding her hand, gloved in blue,
inside of his, encased in green
one night, a yellow raincoat emerged
as the rain began to devastate
the orange ceiling of their special place
standing as still as the raincoat,
waiting to find out why it appeared,
a flash, suddenly he only sees red,
he can't move, she screams-
then, silence, the raincoat is gone
scarlet consumes him-
eyes close, shutters that bring the darkness
it all gathers now
this is it
enter the blinding white,
farewell.
