The Socials

Make it make sense,
What are y’all doing?
Ass & tits...
& Online talking shit,
Like NOTHING else is going on.
Like EVERYTHING needs validation,
Sharing quotes of “love & light”,
Yet still so vile inside,
But from a post, you can fake it.
On the socials, ppl focus on the next persons’ pretty filtered plate,
And that’s the problem,
You let your stomach get upset, growling with envy...
Comparing and contrasting your own life with some strangers’ controlled content...
Or even worse, jealous of your friends,
As you scroll by their accomplishments,
Only will stop to make a comment,
If it’s about some drama or some gossip.
And ALL you bitches look the SAME,
The same bodies &
act like the same hoes,
Living wild and calling it free,
One clown hyping another,
... you know how it goes.
Promoting all the bullshit...
Making it hard for the decent folk,
The ones just tryna make it the right way,
& Remain low-key & noble.
Here, married men forget they’re taken...
And the hoe-life glorified,
And the poor kids...
I cringe at some of what they’re exposed to online.
And no one reads in real life,
The posts almost give me a seizure...
When it’s grown people who can’t spell,
Like...?
What are you tryna say here?
*sighs*
Social media, boy...
This is where all your exes can lurk,
This is where childhood trauma shines bright,
I can always tell who’s posting because they’re hurt.
...people use the platform like a diary!
Crying like someone is really concerned,
Too emotional to see that they’re just laughing at you,
Reading every comment,
Enjoying their tea & popcorn.
Whew boy, a suggestion if you will?
And I know it could be hard,
New and unlike you, a new feel...
But, find yourselves outside of the phone screen...
Do you even know you?
When there’s no one looking
Or liking?
Start with asking yourself what it is you like to do?
