.. possibly
shattered dreams
or broken loves,
definitely both
amongst other things,

i for one
can vouch for many,
those of joy
and those of pity,
same in the country
as is in the city,

some of elation
but mostly sorrow,
some were yesterday’s
supply now tomorrow’s

some make a river
others not a thimble,
definitely for strength
some times to be nimble,

no direct reflection
it seems to be vacant,
that is a deception
the outside is naked,

one thing that’s evident
it’s become crystal-clear,
nothing more complex
than the ingredients

of a tear..
