Sinking Ship
I’m in an ocean of my own emotions.
I’m scared I’ll drown as my ship goes down.
This fragile boat, I tried to keep afloat.
I didn’t think it was able to sink.
My body is sore, I fear I won’t make it to shore.
A lifetime of wear and tear, too damaged to repair.
Afraid of the unknown, this boat is all I’ve known.
It started as a small hole, I swore I had it under control.
I tried to stop the leak, I found I was too weak.
Water up to my neck, maybe I should go down with the wreck.
I could surrender to this war, let myself fall to the sea floor.
Or I can try once more to swim to shore.
I’m scared I’ll drown as my ship goes down.

I didn’t think it was able to sink.
