Within the Shadow of Wapiti

Stillness, below sheltered
skies that wrap me in her love.
I lie down on needles of
ancient pine, warmed by
 her heart, that will shine
forever

Stained glass memories
surround me, reminding me
of  who I am
No longer searching  for
my purpose, my intention
 Mother of all,  connects
with me, my pride is released,
I accept the blessings of this
sacred earth.

Amongst the trees and
 boulder-strewn hills the
 land where Wapiti does travel
I was open to receive, energy
from the land of the People of
the Tall Pine, the Hualapai

 See their pale reflection
by moonlight.
They walk, fifty miles bloodied
feet with  broken hearts they are
removed from their land
 I am cleansed,  washed in
their memory honored and
ashamed to stake my claim
My spirit has been awakened
 as I hear her speak,

Wait, for monsoon,  their tears
 rain on Hualapai.
Follow me to where the
parched ground becomes
moist, with this antler you will
dig  clay from ancient
ground.
Listen, you will hear me as
your hands work the clay
You are together with my spirit
Purified in the fire
Create, Love, Honor
The Hualapai
