A Beautiful Woman

She wears basic black
Not grieving just fashion
She throws an icy stare right back
When the construction workers whistle
It's just another day alive
There's nothing special happening here at all
But when she arrives where she's headed
All the other women stare with jealous hate
Such a beauty
Such an icy queen
She holds her head up high
You cannot tell she's holding on real tight
It's hard sometimes to be that way
When it's wanted so bad but hated so much
But it's harder to feel sad for her
She's got the world in the palm of her hand
She can do what she wants it seems to us
But we'd be wrong I guess
She's all alone with her looks
And she just craves love
Like the rest of us
