The Outlaw In You

This life I was livin’, it was all good, wrapped up tight like a bow
Until that summer you took me by the hand and taught me how to let go
We played a game for awhile until I drew the queen of hearts

Our hearts were beating like a thousand horses, just running wild
We crossed the mountains and the boarder, just to feel alive
I never took you for a cowgirl, but you rode it that way
Maybe it was me, maybe it was you, was it the way you held my gun, or did we just find something new
The outlaw in you

You were a school teacher ringing the morning bell, they never knew
I never saw a golden rule, just the desperado side you
The man with a badge and the posse followed, they never had a clue

Our hearts were beating like a thousand horses, just running wild
We crossed the mountains and the boarder, just to feel alive
I never took you for a cowgirl, but you rode it that way
Maybe it was me, maybe it was you, was it the way you held my gun, or did we just find something new
The outlaw in you

The outlaw in you...

Baby, I still dream about those sunset rides
Disappearing into the darkness
Our hearts were beating like a thousand horses, just running wild
We crossed the mountains and the boarder, just to feel alive
I never took you for a cowgirl, but you rode it that way
Maybe  it was me, maybe it was you, was it the way you held my gun, or did we just find something new
The outlaw in you
