Freedom to Love

Born into the world with only our souls
and we'll leave this life with only its content
Our naked bodies are complete and whole
with everything we need from beginning to end

Untainted, unbroken, sinfully naive
Our minds and hearts are free of despair
Unconsciously demanding of our own needs
with an awakening desire to receive loving care

We are free to love, but have lost our way
in this world where dreams are crushed by expectation
           Expectations of being what others see
            when we are already all we need to be
if we could find our way back to our soul's passion

We must return to this emotional state
where we find that child that is deep within
We accept who we are when we learn to create
and accept this kind of love in our lives again


Pain is a prison, forgiveness is the key
Peace comes from the release of negative energy
Nothing in the world lasts for an eternity
except the love that we share and sets us free

We are free to love in our own way
We are not defined by the world's expectation
            We become who we are
            when we fulfill our desire
and express the unique power of our soul's passion
