Hope

What is hope?
Hope is the belief you can be something  
Hope is believing in the unknown  
Hope is a beautiful thing to see
 
Children live life with no regret
Why do we regret what we do?
Why do we doubt ourselves?
Why can't you just be you?
 
We all have our dreams as a kid
Did they come true?
Do you like who you are?
Is this what you wanted to do?
 
We lose hope when things are tough
We hide from what we fear
We are afraid to make one step
Even when the path seems clear  
 
Hope can save your heart  
It can show the way
But as you grow apart
It just fades away  
 
Do you remember dreaming of the impossible?
Do you remember thinking you were invincible?
Did you feel like nothing could stop you?
Do you now feel invisible?
 
Minds are dangerous things
They can make life full of light  
Everything will seem great  
But we might lose our fight
 
Hope is a weapon
It can bring death and destruction  
It can bring peace and happiness  
And it can be the end of construction
