A lions pride

Is it arrogance to be the head
A sense of self, on the top shelf
When others fail and you must lead
They flounder so and ask for help

A self assurace to be your own
To choose your path and not kowtow
And hold the lamp of your own glow
Not seek the spotlights fickle bow

A vocabulary that has no cant
Your own shoes are just big enough
An ego tied so sacrosanct
Not effigy or golden bust

Seek no the preen of the selfie sect
For pride shows srength of intellect
Where others fawn and self destruct
A lion stands with his pride intact

That mirror see no selfish want
For pride will christen in its font
