Silences
In my silences
I speak to your eyes
And you answer without words
In knowings
Felt
Within my heart
To be that honest, c!ose
That when words spill and scatter
Over what not
Or turn to laughter
Or turn quiet
As I am now in need of you
I
Who drink in the hard of life
Stoic
Day by day
Though you see through me
To need
And answer strength
For strength
When my strength in weakness falters
My prayer
Answered by an Angel
I remember
How small your hand is within mine
Yet you fill my world
And purpose the day
To more than I had dreamed
You who stole my heart
And took me on
To make me better than I am
You are the fragrance of a rose unfolding
Wet with dew to grace the morning
Wild flowers dancing in the winds of spring
Honeysuckle and pine
The smell of sweet magnolia
To me
All of nature's grace and beauty
If it had but the power to love
As you
I speak to your eyes
And you answer without words
In knowings
Felt
Within my heart
To be that honest, c!ose
That when words spill and scatter
Over what not
Or turn to laughter
Or turn quiet
As I am now in need of you
I
Who drink in the hard of life

As you
